Nvidia stock is attracting renewed investor attention after its expanded partnership with South Korean semiconductor giant SK Hynix strengthened the company’s position in the rapidly growing artificial intelligence infrastructure market.
The agreement focuses on long-term cooperation in advanced memory technology, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), a key component required for Nvidia’s AI accelerators. While the partnership has not yet translated into a direct revenue commitment, investors see it as a potential catalyst that could help Nvidia overcome one of its biggest growth constraints: AI chip supply capacity.
Nvidia shares closed Friday at $206.84, down 0.92%, before markets fully assessed the implications of the SK Hynix announcement.
The partnership comes as demand for AI computing continues to outpace supply, increasing the importance of memory availability alongside GPU production.

Nvidia has established a dominant position in AI accelerators, but advanced processors require equally powerful memory solutions to operate efficiently.
High-bandwidth memory (HBM) has become a crucial part of AI infrastructure because large AI models require enormous data-processing capacity. Limited HBM supply has emerged as one of the biggest challenges facing chipmakers, cloud providers, and AI developers.
Under the expanded partnership, Nvidia and SK Hynix will collaborate on supplying and optimising next-generation AI memory technologies. The goal is to better align SK Hynix’s HBM roadmap with Nvidia’s AI computing platforms.
Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore recently highlighted memory as an increasingly important bottleneck for AI and agent-based computing systems, arguing that companies capable of solving supply constraints could benefit significantly from continued AI investment.
For Nvidia, securing additional HBM capacity could allow the company to deliver more complete AI systems while reducing supply chain risks.
However, the agreement does not immediately solve existing shortages. HBM production remains highly complex, requiring strict qualification processes, advanced manufacturing capacity, and coordination between chip designers, memory suppliers and data centre operators.
The SK Hynix partnership also strengthens Nvidia’s broader AI infrastructure ecosystem by connecting the company with a potential large-scale customer.
SK Telecom plans to develop a 2-gigawatt AI factory using Nvidia’s DSX architecture and upcoming Vera Rubin accelerated computing systems powered by SK Hynix HBM4 memory.
The first facility is expected to begin operations in 2027.

The companies have not disclosed Nvidia’s expected revenue contribution, system volume commitments, memory pricing arrangements, or binding purchase agreements.
While the SK Hynix partnership strengthens Nvidia’s long-term AI growth story, the company’s next major challenge remains execution.
Analysts have pointed to potential delays surrounding Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform, including thermal management challenges and HBM4 qualification timelines.
KeyBanc analyst John Vinh suggested that any delays could create manageable financial pressure because additional Blackwell shipments may offset slower Vera Rubin adoption.
Vinh maintained an Outperform rating on Nvidia and raised his price target from $310 to $330, reflecting confidence in continued AI infrastructure demand.
For Nvidia investors, the key question is no longer whether AI spending will continue, but whether Nvidia can maintain its leadership position while scaling next-generation systems.
Successful HBM4 qualification, smooth Vera Rubin production, and continued capital expenditure from major technology companies will likely determine whether Nvidia stock can achieve a sustained breakout above recent levels.
Nvidia’s future growth remains closely tied to spending plans from major cloud and technology companies, including Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet and Meta.
These companies continue to invest heavily in AI data centres, but investors are increasingly focused on whether those investments can generate sufficient returns.
A sustained Nvidia stock rally above the $200 level may require evidence that AI infrastructure spending remains strong and that demand for Nvidia’s latest-generation systems continues to expand.
The SK Hynix partnership provides Nvidia with another strategic advantage by strengthening its AI supply chain. However, the market will ultimately judge the company on execution, delivery timelines and future revenue growth.
